Street Musicians in Kyoto

It seems that it is quite common for new and upcoming artists to perform on the streets of Kyoto to become more popular. Unlike other places, where street musicians and professional musicians never intermix, this seems like a very effective way of getting the name of the band out in the open. These are three of the performers which I have observed while here in Kyoto. Each performance seems to last for about an hour, after which the musicians announce the name of the club where the next real performance will take place. Fun and entertaining. Now, if only I knew the names of these bands..

What might turn out to be the most hysterical thing to happen to me in Japan

I haven't written for a very long time, mostly because of the courseload here. Luckily, fall break started 4 horus ago! I plan on going to Tokyo, so some picks should show up on this blog afterwards.

But more importantly, I just found out about something that might just end up being the most absurd event during my 3.5 month long stay in Japan. Yes, grupa

is coming to Japan to perform. According to this poster, they are doing 3 concerts with the Kobe City Philharmonic Chorus in and around Kobe. Luckily for me, Kobe is just 1 hour away from where I am at by train.

This is so awkward, I don't even know what to say.
